Decorex 2011 Hot Pick! Complicated simplicty from the French

This years Decorex International once again brought the goods to the table, featuring an eclectic mix of interiors, soft furnishings and lighting. But the stand that took the biscuit for us at Couch, oozed originality and elegance.

Le Deun Luminaires was established in 1997 by lighting engineer Jean-Luc Le Deun (above). The French designer started working on this magnificent collection for Decorex 6 months ago, with the aim of creating a simple alternative to traditional lighting.

Jean-Luc told Couch, “We wanted to remove what is unnecessary in lighting, making it simple yet very elegant… it’s the future of lighting.”

The lights are designed and handmade in France, with each piece housing hundreds of mini LED lights, all energy efficient with a lifespan of over 800,000 hours and not an inch of heat emitted.

It was the first time the French company had attended Decorex and found the event, “very exciting and professional”.

The high quality craftsmanship and complicated simplicity of Jean-Luc’s designs is what stood out to Couch. Le Deun Luminaires is the future of lighting and firmly fixed on our wish list!
