Be an oriental goddess for Chinese New Year 2012

New Year celebrations aren’t quite over yet! There is still the colourful Chinese New Year hoopla on 23rd January  to get geared up for. So if you’re heading out to a party or event, you will need to get the oriental inspired look right!

In line with current interior trends in China that reflect “quite luxury” and incorporate western influences, the key to nailing the perfect Chinese New Year is to play by the mantra of “less is more”.  Go for something that is tailored in the typical Chinese style but steer away from ornate prints and embroidery.

Symbol of luck and the colour most associated with oriental design is red. But this traditional oriental colour palette has had makeover, with raspberry , mahogany, burnt orange and earthy tones the shades to sport for 2012.

Couch Design News has volunteered to be your personal virtual stylist and chose two unbelievable dresses from Parisian label, Vionneta. Made from divine satin and crepe, these little numbers ooze understated glamour and will show off the contours of the female form wonderfully.

And never failing to cook up a stunning pair of stilts is fashion veteran Christian Louboutin, with these textured grey heels with metal detailing. Perfect for lengthening those pins!

To complete the look we went for a sassy metal-chain necklace by New York jewellery duo Dannijo Bea and a selection of seductive shades from YSL’s Spring 2012 collection – well we want you looking your best!
